FREE TUTORING PROGRAM for EVERY GRADE!

Through the Hickory Community Relations Council, a program is now available to assist students from kindergarten through high school. The council received a grant to start the "Joseph Hill's Reachback Tutorial Program."

The Hickory Community Relations Council is seeking volunteers to help tutor students of every age. According to local community member and organizer, Thomas Hill, these students are the next generation of leaders. "We need to make sure they receive as much education as they can get. If you can volunteer one hour a week, a month, or a year, we need you," said Hill.

To all educators and parents, if you know of a student who needs assistance with their assignments or support in a particular subject area, please contact this volunteer group to help the student. "We will help with homework as we build the child's confidence," said Hill.

The program operates on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, from 5:30 - 7:30 pm, beginning February 5, 2019, at Morning Star First Baptist Church in Hickory.

If you are interesting in volunteering to tutor students or you know of a child in need, please contact Thomas Hill: 828-320-4458 or Genita Hill: 828-244-1572; or call Morning Star First Baptist Church if you have additional questions: 828-327-2067.
