Teachers give us so much. A boost of confidence when we really need one. Extra help when we’re having trouble. A welcoming presence when everything else seems out of control. And though we know we can’t ever thank them enough, we can take a moment during National Teacher Appreciation Week to share our appreciation for the special educators in our lives.

National Teacher Appreciation Day is Tuesday, May 3rd; but at Hickory Public Schools--we want to be sure to celebrate our teachers every day during this special week.

You are invited to share one to two sentences about a wonderful teacher at HPS: "I appreciate (teacher's name) because..." Email your responses to: snowdenbe@hickoryschools.net

You may also send a photo holding a sign with words to thank teachers (or a particular teacher). All photos must be over 200 KB and under 1 MB.

During this special week, Beverly Snowden, HPS director of communications, will compile the messages and post daily on the Hickory Public Schools Facebook page! Start sending your messages today! You may acknowledge & thank more than one teacher!

(HPS Communications Office maintains the right to edit content of messages/photos.)
