Career & Technical Education

CTE Logo

Career and Technical Education (CTE) gives purpose to learning by emphasizing real-world skills and practical knowledge. Programs in Career and Technical Education are designed to contribute to the broad educational achievement of students, including basic skills such as reading, writing, and mathematics, as well as their ability to work independently and as part of a team, think creatively, solve problems, and utilize technology.

Whether a student is exploring careers in middle school or graduating with more than a diploma in high school, CTE is an integral part of their professional development.

North Carolina CTE State Mission: Career and Technical Education (CTE) is to empower all students to be successful citizens, workers and leaders in a global economy.

Our CTE marketing campaign is underway. Look for an increase in social media posts, infographics, a quarterly newsletter, and e-blast highlights. We're excited about the number of credential and certificate opportunities for our students and encourage you to become a CTE Advocate by sharing our good news.

Become a HPS CTE Subscriber, like our social media posts, and share our good news with the community.
