Thanks to Donors Choose and the Lipin Family Foundation, Viewmont School received a Bass Metallophone and Soprano Metallophone to round out our ORFF Ensemble. We previously only had an Alto Metallophone and Bass, Alto, and Soprano Xylophones. The addition of the metal instruments increased the timbre possibilities in our ensemble. It also brings the total number of instruments for the classroom up to thirteen, so that half of the class can be playing rather than a third. Students get more playing time on the instruments. We use the instruments in the classroom every week to practice rhythm and melodies. We will feature the instruments in our up-coming chorus concert as several faculty members accompany the chorus.
