Kindergarten students are learning Nursery Rhymes and how to keep a steady beat. First, second, and third graders begin a new Music Curriculum called "Game Plan."  Fourth graders are busy learning North Carolina songs and playing their new recorders which arrived in October.  We will have a recorder Concert February 26 at 6:00 in the gym.

Fifth grade students are learning songs from the Revolutionary War period and creating dramatic skits for the song lyrics. Our next Unit will be the War of 1812 and our National Anthem. This coincides with the MENC National Anthem Project that believes every citizen of the United States should be able to sing our National Anthem, "The Star Spangled Banner." Fifth graders will also be learning songs about the fifty states and the settlement of North America, which ties in with their social studies curriculum.
