Important Points About Your 2008 PSAT Report
Important points about your 2008 PSAT/NMSQT Score Report

Look at your score
Your Critical Reading, Mathematics, and Writing Skills scores are at the top of your
score report.

Add all three scores together to get your total score

The lowest score is a 20 and the highest is an 80

Add a 0 to your score to predict your SAT score, for example if you made a 50 on the writing skills then you will most likely make a 500 on the writing skills of the SAT

50 is considered an average score on each section of the PSAT and 500 is considered an average score on each section of the SAT

Review your answers
Please use your test book and the score report to review your answers.  You will see a column with the correct answer, your answer, and the level of difficulty.  E means easy,
M means medium, and H means hard. A check in the column means that you answered correctly.   At the bottom of each section is a summary of how many you answered correctly in each category.

Improve your skills
At the bottom of your report please read the suggestions to improve in each area. The skills listed are based on your individual performance on the test and represent those that you have the best chance to improve with extra work.

NMSC Selection Index
An asterisk (*) next to your selection index means you do not meet entry requirements for the National Merit Scholarships.  All 9th and 10th graders will have an asterisk because only 11th graders can enter the scholarship competition.  If you are an 11th grader and have an asterisk please see your responses to the entry requirement questions.
