Spring sports pictures will be taken on Friday, March 1 after school.
 
Boy's Baseball:

Sign ups for baseball will begin starting on Monday, 2/11.   Eighth graders can sign up in the gym and 7th graders may come by  room #245 where Coach Phillips will have a registration sheet available.   The same rules apply for physicals.  Tryouts will start on Feb. 20th and end Feb. 22nd  from 2:45  until  4:30.
Softball & Girl's Soccer:

Girl's Softball Tryouts will begin on Wednesday, February 20th @ 2:30 and last until 4:30.  You must have a current physical to participate.  Tryouts will run until Friday, February 22nd. 
We will also have workouts on the following days:
Thursday, February 7th- Conditioning
Tuesday, February 12- Hitting Clinic
Thursday, February 14- Fielding Clinic
These events are not mandatory for tryouts. See Coach Stephens if you have questions.
 
Girl's Soccer open field after school Feb. 18th & 19th, tryouts are Feb. 20th.  Again, you must have a current physical to participate. 
Boys Basketball vs. Newton-Conover

Yesterday our boys basketball team defeated Newton-Conover 32-22.  Kaleb Hewitt led the Hawks scoring with 9 pts.  Ahmad Smith had 7 pts and 3 steals.  Dohndray Poston added 4 pts and 6 rebounds.  Austin Hale and Jaylen Clemmons chipped in 3 pts each.  Noah Hewitt, Pierson Hanvey, and Alijah Greenard each had 2 pts, and Alijah grabbed 5 rebounds.  The Hawks play Jacobs Fork next Tuesday at HOME.
 
Girls Basketball vs. Newton-Conover

The Lady Hawks picked up their first win of the season defeating Newton Conover 46-29 yesterday.  Victoria Eckard led all scorers with 28 points.  She also had 4 assists and 2 steals.  Tatyana Loney put in 8 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and had 4 steals.  Journey Surratt had 6 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Kerri Haynes (5 points) and Jada Simon (2 Points) rounded out the scoring.  The Lady Hawks will host Jacobs Fork next Tuesday.
 
Boys Basketball vs. Maiden

Yesterday our boys basketball team defeated Maiden in the first game of the season 38-32.  After being down 8 points at halftime, the Hawks cut into Maiden’s lead and were down 4 at the end of the 3rd quarter.  The Hawks outscored Maiden 16-6 in the final quarter to secure the win.  Kaleb Hewitt had 10 pts and 7 rebounds.  Dohndray Poston also had 10 pts and grabbed 12 rebounds.  Alijah Greenard added 6 pts and 6 rebounds.  Pierson Hanvey had 4 pts and Noah Hewitt chipped in 3 pts and 5 rebounds.  The Hawks play Newton-Conover at home on Thursday.
 
Girls Basketball vs. Maiden

The Lady Hawks suffered their first loss of the season against the defending conference champion Maiden Wildcats yesterday.  Maiden jumped out in the first quarter, but a spirited defensive effort pulled Northview to within 7 before the half.  Maiden came out strong in the third quarter and finished even stronger defeating Northview 54-31.  Victoria Eckard led the Lady Hawks, and all scorers, with 24 points.   She also had 4 rebounds and 4 steals.  Tatyana Loney had 4 points, 4 steals and 4 rebounds.  Kerri Haynes rounded out the scoring with 3 points and she also had 3 steals.  The Lady Hawks host Newton Conover on Thursday.
