SUMMER READING CONTEST FOR 6TH, 7TH, AND 8TH GRADERS
Attention all rising 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students!!
Northview Middle School has a summer reading contest! 
Any student who meets the requirements will be eligible for an ice cream party in the fall. 
Simply complete the form and return it to your teacher by September 9th.

PTA PROVIDES FUNDING THROUGH THE TEACHER GRANT PROGRAM
With the assistance of the Northview Middle School Community, the PTA has been able to provide approximately $1000 to each grade level including Specials and/or electives to assist teachers in obtaining additional resource materials for Northview students.  Through our "Teacher Grant" program, the following materials have been or will soon be purchased:

Summary of teacher grants for 6th/7th/8th/specials and electives
Renewal of News Bowl   (one yr subscription)
Renewal of Weekly Reader (one yr subscription)
Purchase of new books titled “Let me Play-Story of Title IX”
Purchase of new books including Data Collection Activities, Activities for Algebra, and the Number Devil
Purchase of new TI-30XIIS calculators
Purchase of AAA batteries for existing calculators
Purchase of new Sea Life microscopes slides, glass microscope slides and new glass beakers
Purchase of 22 new DVD’s including Ancient civilizations, South America and much more
Purchase of new yearly subscriptions to National Geographic – Pathfinder Edition
Purchase of two science videos including Bill Nye
Purchase of boxed novel set -Pup Fiction
Purchase on Monthly Reader Activity Books
Purchase of various workbooks, including personal care, filling out forms and high interest jobs
Purchase of Scholastic Math used for Math and Literature classes
Purchase of comprehensive learning system from Evan-Moor Publishers

BELL SCHEDULE
1st Bell at 7:37 a.m.
Warning Bell at 7:43 a.m.
Start of 1st Period Bell at 7:45 a.m.
Dismissal Bell at 2:20 p.m.
 
Students tardy to school three times, during the nine week grading period, will receive After School Detention (ASD).

HELP NORTHVIEW RAISE MONEY FOR NEEDED PROGRAMS
Link your Harris Teeter card to Northview and help the school to raise money for needed programs, supplies, and projects.  Northview has raised $440.90 through this program.  The Northview school code to link the VIC card is 4073.
 
Target has an education reward program kind of like the one at Harris Teeter.  Northview Middle School has received $316.33 this year, through this program!  To link up you need a RED card, then just go online to www.target.com.  Our school number is 80189.
 
Link your Office Depot card to the Northview account 70061446 to give a percentage of sales to the PTA fund every time you make a purchase.
