The Catawba County Soil and Water Conservation District will once again be sponsoring conservation contests this year -
the theme for the Poster, Speech, and Essay Contest's is: Soil and Water… Yours For Life.
Deadline for submission of all entries is Friday, January 16, 2009.
The 7th and 8th grade Speech competition and award banquet for 5th and 6th grade Poster and 6th grade Essay winners will be held February 5, 2009 at 6:00 pm at the First Methodist Church in Newton.

Please note! Because of the overwhelming response we have had for the poster competitions, we ask that 5th and 6th grade classes hold their own elimination round and submit the top 3 posters to our competition. We will be accepting 3 posters per class.
