Welcome to Pat Bain
I just want to take the time to introduce a new face at Oakwood Elementary.  Mrs. Pat Bain will be the new Assistant Principal.  She will work part-time at Oakwood and part-time at Longview.  I am very excited to have her at the school and I know that she will be a great addition!
1st-5th Grade Assignment Letters
Letters will be mailed on Monday, August 9th or Tuesday, August 10th.  Each letter is stamped with a "Do Not Forward" label.  If you have moved and have not notified the school, please let us know so that we can verify your address.   
Kindergarten Assignment Letters
Kindergarten assignment letters were mailed on Friday, August 6th.  This letter states the Staggered Start Day for your child.  If you do not receive your letter by Tuesday, August 10th, please check with the school to make sure that you have registered.
Summer Office Hours
The school is open from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday during the summer.  We will start back on a Monday through Friday schedule on August 16th.  If you have moved into our district, please contact the school to register.

2010-2011 School Year
If you will be new to Oakwood for the 2010-2011 school year, please contact the office to let us know.  We will be holding our Kindergarten Beginners Day on Tuesday, May 4th at 3:30 and want to make sure that we have you on our list.  When you contact the school please have the following information:  Your name, child's name, child's date of birth, grade child will be in (very important if your child is not entering  kindergarten), and your address.  We look forward to hearing from you and meeting you soon.

4.  Two (2) documents proving your address (utility bills, signed lease/rent agreement, W-2 forms)

PTA Open House
Begin: 9/28/10
Description: PTA Meeting and Open House. Please come to this meeting. After the meeting, teachers will then have a presentation for you in order to help make this a successful year.

International Walk to School Day
Begin: 10/6/10
Description: Oakwood students and staff are walking to school for the 3rd year as a part of the International Walk to School in the USA Day. Join the Oakwood community at one of two sites:Holy Trinity Lutheran Church or at the YMCA near the track by the pool and walk to school that morning.
