Awards Day
Due to the recent winter weather, our Awards Day has been postponed. A notification will be sent home when we reschedule. Tentative date is Monday, February 15th (might be earlier). Thanks!

2010-2011 School Year
If you will be new to Oakwood for the 2010-2011 school year, please contact the office to let us know. We will be holding our Kindergarten Beginners Day on Tuesday, May 4th at 3:30 and want to make sure that we have you on our list. When you contact the school please have the following information: Your name, child's name, child's date of birth, grade child will be in (very important if your child is not entering kindergarten), and your address. We look forward to hearing from you and meeting you soon.

Opportunities to Support Oakwood - Fall 2009
As a PTA, we want to make it easy for you to support Oakwood! There are several businesses in our community who are eager to support our school. All of us probably use at least one of these businesses. Salsarita's Fresh Cantina - Salsarita's nights will be Oct. 22nd and December 10th. Each night will be from 5pm - 9pm. Papa John's - The second Tuesday of the month is Oakwood night at Papa John's. (Oct. 13th, Nov. 10th, and Dec. 8th) It's easy - just order at Papa John's, save your receipt, and return it to school the next day. Firehouse Subs - Firehouse Sub's Night will be the first Tuesday of each month from 4pm to 8pm. McDonald's mcTeacher Night - Location - McDonald's on HWY 127 across from Papa John's. The night is Tuesday, November 17th from 5pm to 8pm. Harris Teeter VIC or Food Lion MVP cards - Link your cards to Oakwood Elementary and a portion of your purchase will come back to Oakwood. Box Top for Education - Clip box top coupons from boxes of your products that you use at home. Thank you for your support!

Items to bring when registering
1. A certified copy of the Birth Certificate 2. Immunization Records 3. Social Security Card 4. Two (2) documents proving your address (utility bills, signed lease/rent agreement, W-2 forms) 5. Health Assessment form filled out by doctor (for students entering Kindergarten)
