Celebrating Veterans
Among Us!

Thank you to the Hickory High JROTC for celebrating US Veterans among us--including HPS employees and family members!

This weekend is not just about getting an extra day off from school or work--but it is a time to pay respectful tribute to those men and women who are serving in the US Armed Forces--or have served in the past.

Not to be confused with Memorial Day, which pays tribute to those lives lost during active service, Veterans Day is designated to recognize our fellow men and women who have dedicated their lives (or actively continue to dedicate their lives) to serving our country.

We realize that not everyone contributed to this slide presentation of Veterans Among Us, but please know that we respect and honor your service to the United States of America!

Update: The JROTC of Hickory High is Presenting the Colors this Saturday morning at 8 am, Hickory Soup Kitchen, where local veterans will be served a free breakfast. Former HPS Superintendent, Dr. Ric Vandett,  a veteran, will be the guest speaker.

In addition, the Hickory High JROTC will Present the Colors and serve local veterans this Monday, Veterans Day, at a special military appreciation event  held at the Golden Corral from 5-8 PM. All veterans receive a free meal.
