Oakwood's Jerrica Dula, a fifth grade teacher, was surprised by Clark Tire today!

Three representatives from Clark Tire, including Thomas Hand, Scott Stilwell and Mike McGinnis, awarded Ms. Dula with an automotive make-over from the company's program, "Where the Rubber Meets the Road." The program started approximately six years ago by Tim Lail, vice president, Clark Tire.

Prepared with a rental car in exchange for Ms. Dula's car, the Clark Tire team will return her car to the school on Thursday with a make-over! Her package includes new tires, new brakes, fluid exchange, and a thorough wash/detail! The gift is valued at approximately $1,800!

According to Thomas Hand, the surprise package is a great way for Clark Tire to give back to the community. "Our teachers do so much for our children--and for our community. This is just one way to recognize them for their dedication and service," said Hand.

HPS Superintendent, Dr. Robbie Adell and Oakwood Principal, Jennifer Griffin, joined Clark Tire for the celebration, along with Sandi Fotheringham, coordinator, HPS Partners in Education/Volunteer Programs and Executive Director, HPS Education Foundation.

Clark Tire started in Hickory in 1943 and has multiple stores throughout the region. "We sincerely appreciate this valued partnership and the generous support from Clark Tire," said Dr. Adell.

Congratulations to Jerrica Dula! To view more photos, visit the Hickory Public Schools Facebook page:
