Developmental preschool classrooms are available at Oakwood Elementary, Viewmont Elementary, Southwest Primary, and Hickory High. All classes are taught by B-K licensed teachers who use Creative Curriculum to guide their teaching. Teachers use themes and the project approach to teach concepts each week. Group time is used to introduce the lesson each day and centers are set up to facilitate learning in all areas of development. Schedules are arranged to provide opportunities for large group, small group, independent play, outdoor time, rest time, snack and lunch.
