"School Meals, The First Step to Learning" is a slogan that our state and its school nutrition staff take to heart by meeting the needs of our students. School nutrition programs help build healthy eating habits for life. Students in Hickory City Schools are provided nutritious meals through the National School Lunch Program.

FREE Breakfast & Lunch for the 2024-2025 School Year

ALL students will receive FREE Breakfast and Lunch Reimbursable Meals during the 2024-2025 school year as provided through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). Student participation in this program is vital to this program's continued success!

The letter must contain the complainant’s name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation. Special Dietary Accommodations/Allergens

All Medical Statements must be completed by a licensed medical authority and updated yearly. This ensures that we have the most accurate data on your student to follow their dietary and meal pattern guidelines at no additional cost to you. All reasonable meal accommodations will be made once a complete Medical Statement is received and processed (can take up to 10 business days).

Students with a milk intolerance and requiring only a milk substitution should have a Medial Statement on file (yearly) to provide the milk substitution at no cost. If only a Milk Substitution form is received a milk substitute can be provided at your request but the student will be charged at the A La Carte price for that product.
